When I was raising my kids in Arizona, I was constantly looking for fun things to do in Phoenix with them (to get them out of the house)! From golf camp to art class, there is something for any age in this huge city we live in! Summertime is a time for your kids to discover something new (and keep their learning fresh). Here are some of my favorite things to do with kids in Phoenix during the hot summer.
Museums in Phoenix Summer Events for Kids!
Arizona Authors Summertime Storytelling & Craft Saturdays
Keep your kids reading and being creative even when school is out! This program’s fun children’s books and crafts are all related to the Arizona culture, history, and wildlife. I think it’s such a fun way to give our local Pueblo Grande Museum a little love, while also spending a quality Saturday with the family. Sign up beforehand because they say that space is limited. Check out which books they have planned here!
Where? Pueblo Grande Museum
4619 E. Washington St., Phoenix, AZ 85034
When? Every Saturday in June and July from 10am to noon
How much? $5 (with a snack)
Children’s Museum of Phoenix
This is the PLACE TO BE is you’re under 8 years old. They are open every week and have a new event almost every day for any of your little people from toddlers to second graders! Personally, their Art Studio is my favorite spot in the museum because it is a creative workshop designed for the crazy, curious, and messy minds and hands of our kids. It’s a fun way to keep your kids learning and creating (without them realizing they’re doing work)! Check out their calendar of free events and create your summer fun in Phoenix!
Where? Children’s Museum of Phoenix
215 N. 7th St., Phoenix, AZ 85034
When? Tuesdays-Sundays 9am-4pm
How much? $11 for kids and adults; $10 for seniors
Summer Camps in Phoenix for Kids!
B.E.S.T. Summer Sports Camps
Do you have some little ones with restless legs? Get them out of the house and onto a court! The thing I love about the B.E.S.T. (Beginners Edge Sports Training) program is their flexibility and diversity. Not to mention, kids meet others through similar interests! The programs include food, water, and snacks for the full-day/full-week campers. This is a great beginner summer camp in Phoenix for children who don’t quite know which sport they love yet! From bouncy houses to basketball, they’ll come home to you happy, hungry, and exhausted. (Just how we like them, huh?) Here’s the flyer with registration information. Remember that siblings get $10 discounts- so the more the merrier!
Where? B.E.S.T. Facility @ Scottsdale & Shea
7000 E. Shea Blvd., Suites 1830/1840, Scottsdale, AZ
When? May 26-July 31 (times/days for each camp varies)

Phoenix Center for the Arts Summer Camp
If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll want to stay cool inside over the hot Phoenix summer. The Phoenix Center for the Arts has the ultimate artsy summer camp for Grades K-6! Dance, sing, draw, and act the summer away at these 2 week indoor camps! Again, siblings get a hefty $25 discount. Remember that each session has a different focus, so check them all out! You can register here.

Water Parks in Phoenix for Kids!
Of course this summertime fun list of things to do with kids in Phoenix wouldn’t be complete without a list of my favorite family water parks and pools! Here’s the coolest places to take the kids this summer:
Oasis Water Park at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa
Take a little staycation for a weekend and enjoy the world-famous resorts that Phoenix has to offer! This beautiful water park is 7-acres and has places for all ages to find fun.
Where? 8000 S. Arizona Grand Parkway Phoenix, AZ 85044
How much? Free for hotel guest
Big Surf Waterpark
Always a popular Phoenix location, take the family out for a long day of slides, wave pools, and rafting! It beats a day in front of the TV every time. Their season passes will save you money in the long run too!
Where? 1500 N. McClintock Dr./Hayden Rd. Tempe, AZ 85281
How much? General admission $27, seniors $15, and kids $20
Golfland SunSplash
This is where to bring your older kids for tons of “big kid” water slides and rafting adventures! Not to fear, they have smaller slides, pools, lazer tag, and golf for the not-so-brave at heart.
Where? 155 W. Hampton Ave. Mesa, AZ 85210
How much? Each activity varies. Check out their site for prices.
Let me know how you’re planning on spending your AZ summer! If you have more things to do with kids in Phoenix, I’ll add them to this list. Remember, Phoenix is such a wonderful place to live!
